When I was twenty
My mother said to me
“It’s time you step out of
your hive
And find your meaning in
life.”
I took a walk to the park
And witnessed a passionate
hug
Union of man and woman
Was that the answer to the question?
Dressed in coat and tie
A businessman brisked by
Grinning like a little boy
Could wealth and success
bring such joy?
Seated by a clover tree
Was a girl with a book and a
cup of coffee
Was pursuit of knowledge
One’s motivation even till
old age?
To home I returned
With no conclusion
My overzealous mother stood
at the door
I realized that family is what I live for
I realized that family is what I live for
